Privacy policy

Last updated 11 September 2026

This policy explains what information 10x Verdict collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell your data, and the only information we collect is anonymous traffic statistics plus whatever you choose to send us if you email or use the contact form.

Who we are

10x Verdict is a consumer technology and appliance publication operating in India. For any question about this policy or your data, get in touch viaour contact page.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we receive whatever you send — typically your name, your email address and your message. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else.

Information collected automatically

Like effectively every website, our hosting provider records technical information when a page is served: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This is used for security and to diagnose faults.

Analytics

We use web analytics to understand which articles are read and how people arrive at the site. This tells us what to write more of. It is aggregate and statistical — we are interested in "500 people read the AC guide this week", not in what any individual did.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use them sparingly:

  • Analytics cookies — to count visits and understand traffic patterns in aggregate.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies — when you click a link to a retailer, that retailer or the affiliate network may set a cookie so any resulting purchase is attributed to us. This is set by them, on their terms, not by us.

We do not use cookies for advertising profiles. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally, though we will not be credited for purchases you make after clicking our links.

Third parties

Some processing necessarily happens outside our control. The categories involved are:

  • Our hosting provider, which serves the site and keeps server logs.
  • Our analytics provider, which processes aggregate traffic data.
  • Affiliate networks and retailers, when you click a link to a retailer. At that point you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy — which we would encourage you to read, since their data practices are considerably more extensive than ours.
  • Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on this site.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. There is no circumstance in which we would.

How long we keep things

  • Emails and contact form messages: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then deleted in the ordinary course.
  • Server logs: a short period, as set by our hosting provider, for security and diagnostics.
  • Analytics data: retained in aggregate form. It is not linked to you as an identifiable individual.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and comparable laws elsewhere, you have the right to ask us:

  • what personal data of yours we hold,
  • to correct it if it is wrong,
  • to delete it,
  • to withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Ask us via our contact page and we will respond. In practice, for most visitors, the answer is that we hold nothing about you beyond anonymous aggregate statistics.

Children

This site is intended for adults making purchasing decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We hold very little personal data by design, which is the most effective security measure available to a publication of this kind. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
